*Make-Up* - Get Smokey!

How do I do it?
  1. The key to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free. To do this start with an eyeshadow base.

  2. If you're going for a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If your opting for a jewel-toned eye, line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.

  3. For color on the bottom (a key smokey eye look) you'll want a lighter eyeliner. The key is to "smudge it." You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.

  4. Again, the key to a smokey eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your browbone.

  5. Now that you have the base and eyeliner on, it's time to get the smoky effect. You need a darker eyeshadow shade. Using an eyeshadow brush blend in color starting at your lash line, blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Stop deep color at crease.

  6. Finish with several coats of volumizing mascara.

Nails - French Manicure at Home!

How do I do it?
  • Using a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover, wipe off any old nail polish before painting your nails. Wash hands and soak in warm water for a few moments.
  • With a wooden nail stick, gently push back the cuticles so they are all even with each other once the water has softened your skin.
  • With nail clippers, beauty scissors or a nail file, shape your nails evenly.
  • With a steady hand, carefully paint only the tip of each nail with a white hue. A second coat may be desirable, depending on the thickness and opaqueness of the polish. Allow polish to dry between coats.
  • Using a slightly transparent pink or nude color, paint the entire nail once the tips have dried. A second coat may be necessary. Allow nails to dry thoroughly.
  • Once all the coats have dried, apply a clear topcoat to protect your new French manicure. To lengthen the manicure's lifespan, make an effort to paint a clear coat on each night. Be sure it has enough time to dry completely.

Nowadays, looking good is part of every woman's life. Appearance plays a big role in society, and most women make sure that they are constantly up to date with the latest fashion and trends. There is a lot of pressure from society to be beautiful. It seems like who we are depends on how beautiful we are. We see beautiful people everywhere. When we open a magazine, we never see a 400-pound woman on the first page. Instead we see a woman who is 23% skinnier than the average woman. Advertisers show stunning models living the perfect life to try and entice us into buying their product. They give the illusion that if we buy their product, we will become beautiful and have the desired life. Advertisements don't try to get us to buy a product so that we will be better people; they sell products because we can be beautiful if we own them.
